St Mary’s aims to be an outward looking church with practical, financial and prayerful interest in God’s work worldwide. As part of our response to Christ’s commands to make disciples of all nations we support a number of organizations with a special focus on five - two in Britain and three overseas.

Wycliffe Bible Translators

Chris and ElaineChris and Elaine

Wycliffe’s vision is to produce a Bible translation in the ‘heart’ language of every people group which still needs one.

St Mary’s supports Chris and Elaine Hurst who have been translating Nahuatl, the language of the Aztecs in Mexico. Now based in Canada they continue with translation and revision of the New Testament in cooperation with their Nahuatl speaking colleagues who have been trained in translation and the production of literacy materials.

OMF International

Allen and Litsa McClymontAllen and Litsa McClymont

OMF International OMF is an international fellowship of Christian workers whose mission is to share the gospel with the peoples of East Asia by all possible means – through direct evangelism, church planting, teaching, training, development work, and through using secular skills.

St Mary’s supports Allen and Litsa McClymont and their work in Malaysia. Allen teaches theology at the Malaysia Theological Seminary near Kuala Lumpur where he serves alongside Asian colleagues delivering a high level of theological training for church workers in Malaysia and beyond.

Spring of Hope

Teresha ClarkTeresha Clark

Spring of Hope is part of YWAM (Youth with a Mission) and brings medical, social and spiritual support to the disabled children of rural Uganda.

St Mary’s supports Teresha Clark, the founder and head of Spring of Hope. Teresha leads a team of local colleagues and short-term volunteers and coordinates a multi-faceted ministry of clincs,assessments, classes, and sponsorship programmes.

Joseph Crisp-HihnJoseph Crisp-Hihn

Actios is associated with Scripture Union and works to assist Christian teaching in our local schools. Joseph Crisp–Hihn is currently employed as the schools worker and, along with a dedicated team of volunteers from local churches, takes Lessons and assemblies in the schools and pioneers new initiatives with the young people of the town.

YFC Youth for Christ

Youth for Christ’s mission is to ‘take the good news relevantly to every young person in Britain’. Their team of staff and local volunteers specialize in working with unchurched youth; communicating and demonstrating the Christian faith through youth clubs, schools work and creative methods of youthwork, using the tools of sport, drama, multimedia and music.

St Mary’s link with YFC is Peter Miller who is a staff member of YFC with the role of Recruitment and Development Support Worker. He is responsible for recruiting, training, and mentoring the teams of volunteers on youth work programmes across the country.
